The La Fenice theater is the most celebrated theater in Venice and one of the most elegant in all of Italy. A fire, one of city's most tragic events in the last century, devastated it in 1996. After years of work to restore the original aspect, La Fenice was finally returned to Venice and the world.The La Fenice 2008 season program includes an Opera season, two ballets and a lavish Symphony program specifically dedicated to Beethoven and turn of the twentieth century German symphony music with other special events.How to get there: La Fenice theater, ferry line 1, Santa Maria del Giglio stop.
